My Story

At 49 years old, I began to notice it was getting more painful to move during my normal day to day activities. My joints hurt continuously—knees, hips, shoulders, and even my fingers felt as if they belonged to someone much older. I was concerned, frustrated, and frightened. Was this arthritis? Was I breaking down? Was this how I was going to live the rest of my life and I wasn't even 50 yet.

It took months to uncover the reality: estrogen depletion during perimenopause was wreaking havoc on my musculoskeletal system. I felt isolated, overlooked by certain healthcare providers, and inundated with contradictory information. That sense of isolation is why I’m sharing my experience with you.

I found a menopause specialist who heard me and believed me. She researched long hours to find out what was causing my symptoms and what the best options for treatment would be. We came up with a plan of action and I got my life back!
